Germany Has Finally Done It!

Starting June 1st, 2024, Germany is opening its doors wider than ever before. For the first time, individuals from all over the world can move to Germany without a job offer or university admission. This groundbreaking initiative, called The Opportunity Card, aims to attract skilled workers and professionals by offering them a year to find employment within the country.

Introducing The Opportunity Card

The Opportunity Card is a residence permit designed specifically to allow workers from third-world countries to enter Germany and seek employment. This new policy not only facilitates job searching but also enables individuals to acquire foreign professional qualifications within Germany.

Eligibility and Points System

To determine eligibility for The Opportunity Card, Germany uses a points system based on qualifications, knowledge, and personal circumstances. A minimum score of six points is required to qualify. However, for those who already have a recognised vocational qualification and are residing in Germany, applying as a recognised skilled worker bypasses the points requirement.

Basic Requirements

Whether you are applying from outside Germany or already residing within the country, you must fulfil the following basic requirements:

1. Have a vocational qualification or university degree.

2. Provide proof that your professional qualification is recognized by the state, either in Germany or in the country where it was obtained.

Special Note for Sudanese Applicants

Sudanese applicants can apply at the nearest German embassy. If you speak English, you will fully qualify for the points system. However, it's essential to make an effort to learn the basics of the German language as soon as possible to enhance your integration and job prospects.
