What happens after I do the test?

• Register your POSITIVE test result at Report your rapid antigen test result
<http://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/report>; or call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398. Isolate for 7 days and inform contacts.

• If you test NEGATIVE and are feeling unwell, stay at home until your symptoms end. Repeat a rapid antigen test each day for several days to increase the chance of detecting COVID-19. If you are still testing negative and must go out, wear a mask and avoid people at risk of severe infection.

• Rest and recover if you’re feeling unwell. Follow the advice at Protect yourself and others <http://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/winter>. Stay home and isolate until you get better. Seek medical help if your symptoms worsen.

• Respond to all messages and calls from the Department of Health, Local Public Health Unit or hospital.

• Receive antiviral treatment. If you test positive, you may benefit from effective COVID-19 medication. For more information about available medicines visit Antivirals and other medicines <http://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/covid-19-medicines>.

• Reduce the spread of COVID-19. Protect those around you, including your loved ones who may be most at risk. Wear a mask. Remain home when sick and ensure indoor spaces are well ventilated. Keep up to date with vaccinations and avoid high risk settings.
